Santander Universities opens new branch at City University London

Santander Universities opened the newest branch of Santander at City University London in a ribbon cutting ceremony at Northampton Square yesterday. The event was attended by Santander Chairman Emilio Botin, Head of Retail Distribution for Santander, Charlotte Hogg, Dean of Cass Business School, Richard Gillingwater and Vice-Chancellor of City University London, Professor Paul Curran.

After the ribbon cutting, the party gathered in the Oliver Thompson Lecture Theatre at the University for the signing of a renewal agreement between City and Santander cementing the corporate partnership between the two.

Since 2007, in a partnership initiated with Cass, Santander has supported students with a range of scholarships at both post-graduate and under-graduate level. The scholarship scheme now extends across all of the University’s academic schools. Continue reading

Call to former International Students

Organised by the International Student Advice Team, the International Student Welcome Reception celebrates the arrival of City’s new international students. It provides an opportunity for new internationals to meet staff and fellow students and learn about useful support services.

The Alumni Relations Team will have a stall at the event and we are looking for former international students to join us. Volunteers will mingle and chat with new students, offering a warm welcome as well as advice and encouragement. The role is informal and we welcome all interested international alumni. Search for a company when you are logged in to LinkedIn, and you’ll see a page showing the company’s profile. This includes a tab listing employees who are your fellow alumni. The assumption seems to be that your fellow alumni will be more approachable and ready to network with you because of your alumni connection. Continue reading
