In January 2013 I was appointed as an Honorary Visiting Senior Fellow in the School of Engineering and mathematical Sciences. I come in to City about once a week.

I love music, and would not know how to live without it. I am on the Committee of the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe. The chairman of the Society is Malcolm Troup, the first head of Music at City. I would love to meet some of the teachers and researchers in the Music Department, and possibly get permission to use the practice pianos.

I graduated City with BSc in Systems & Management. I was a Royal Navy funded student. Subsequently spent 20 years in the Royal Navy culminating in command of two submarines. Then, via an MBA at Cranfield I embarked on a second career in healthcare – NHS and independent sector. Still enjoying senior management and would be happy to play a part in supporting new graduates – providing my old age (60) doesn’t preclude.
