Hierarchical Task Analysis (HTA)

Hierarchical Task Analysis (HTA) aims to describe the actions people do. A representation of the HTA text and/ or diagrams can be used to show hierarchy and plans can be used to describe the order. In this example, the goal of the user is to keep taking her pills everyday.

“Mrs Owen keeps the four medicines she takes every morning in their original bottles on top of the bread bin in the kitchen. Every evening she moves these bottles to the coffee table in her sitting room so that she will not forget to take them the following morning. After breakfast, she places them back on top of the bread bin.”

My tutorial team and I, created the HTA for Mrs Owen by trying to represent her steps.
