5th Annual Learning at City Conference

This year’s Learning at City Conference, the 5th in the annual series, centred around innovation and creativity in higher education, and featured some interesting new tools and fresh perspectives.

It was well recieved as usual, garnering highly positive feedback from those who attended:

“Very informative and thought provoking
Good breadth of subjects and variety of presenters. Very impressed

If you were unable to attend – or if you had to choose between two parallel sessions and would like to see what you missed – then log on to our conference catch-up page, where you can find presentation slides and videos from each session.

Researchers’ Symposium

Following the success of the Conference, we held the final event in our calendar for 2012-13 – the Researchers’ Symposium – on 26th June.

This event provides an opportunity for PhD students to present their research to peers in a supportive, informal environment. This is a valuable experience for research students gearing up for submitting abstracts to external conferences and preparing to disseminate their work.

This year, 17 students took up the opportunity along with 4 students presenting their work in posters, which were available to view throughout the day. The standard of both posters and presentations was very high.

You can view the full book of abstracts for the Symposium from our webpage on the event.

LDC staff nominated for award by School of Health Sciences students

Stef Smith and Sandra Partington were very pleased to be nominated for an Enhancement of Student Experience Award 2013, by SHS students in recognition of their  contribution to the student experience.

The ceremony on June 18th  was a chance to meet and congratulate the winners from across SHS schools and meet the student representatives.
