City Learning and Teaching Forum – Classroom Management

The next lunchtime forum will be on Wednesday 22nd May | ELG03 | 12:30 – 14:00 |

The focus of the Forum will be on classroom management.

We will discuss some of the common issues that staff at City experience in their classrooms that relate to student behaviour and consider how well the expectations of staff and students might align. We will explore a number of the reasons that might underlie these issues and discuss some strategies about how to prevent issues arising and then how to tackle issues if they do arise. The session will be led by members of the academic team in LEaD but we will be encouraging staff to share their own experiences and strategies they have used in these situations.

These sessions are run on an informal, drop-in basis and anyone with an interest in education can come along.

Lunch is provided

The City Learning and Teaching forum has been established to enable academics and staff involved in learning, teaching and student support to discuss ideas, explore challenges, share good practice and find out about new developments.

The lunchtime fora will take place once or twice per term. Each one is based around a different learning and teaching theme.

The forum will be overseen by the City Learning and Teaching Committee and will feed into the development of learning and teaching policy and strategy at City.
