PollEverywhere Revisted
Polleverywhere is a web-based audience response tool for running polls or collecting text feeback from participants via their own mobile devices.
Last week I demonstrated it at the SoI Teaching & Learning Forum as part of my presentation on Edublogs. I’ve used Polleverywhere a few times over the last couple of years: in my FOTE10 presentation & with staff at LSE.
Features
- Multiple-Choice polls & Free Text Questions
- 40 responses per poll / question [Update: the university currently has a campus licence allowing unlimited use]
- Participants contribute via SMS, Twitter or pollEv.com
- Results can be downloaded as .CSV
- Responses per person can be restricted or unlimited
The main drawback of the standard free version, is the 40-response per question limit. In the past I’ve got around this by getting participants to discuss and respond as a group but this will depend on the activity. The paid-for versions are more expensive than I remember; as well as upping the numbers give you other features such as response moderation.
Examples
1) Multiple Choice Poll
2) Free Text Poll
