Austerity and beyond, Greece and the cultural sector

Andy Pratt gave a lecture at the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CULTURAL ECONOMY AND DEVELOPMENT, held in Athens, Greece at the Acropolis Museum, May 15th.

Andy’s presentation was entitled ‘The cultural economy: from austerity to resilience’. The presentation is based upon a paper recently published in City, Culture and Society: “ Resilience, locality and the cultural economy”. City, Culture and Society.

The conference was hosted by the President of the Independent Arts Council, Panayotis Neufelt; other speakers were Wolfgang Schneider (Germany) and Xavier Greffe (France), Jorge Pinto (Portugal) and Nikos Leandros (Greece).
