CCI relocates and renames

CITY UNIVERSITYThe Department of Culture and Creative Industries (which included Creative Writing, Translation and Publishing, and its sister the Music Department) has moved to be under the umbrella of the Sociology Department. The newly designated Centre for Culture and the Creative Industries is the home of MA Culture, Policy and Management, BA Cultural and Creative Industries, and the PhD Culture and Creative Industries, as well as the research focus on culture and the creative industries. The Music Department will be a stand alone unit, and Creative Writing, Publishing and Translation moves to the Department of Journalism. The Centre’s new Director is Professor Any Pratt. Andy and colleagues are happy to have relocated to the Rhind Building (6th floor) where they will be both co-located with one another, and with new colleagues in Sociology. The move has no immediate implications for students, they will still be located in the dynamic research and teaching environment of Culture and the Creative Industries, however they also hope to benefit from other linkages to sociology colleagues, notably the cross cutting research and teaching themes of Media, Communications and Society; Policy and Governance, and Structures on Inequality.

The web pages will be updated in the coming days. Please bear with us as we move offices and get our rooms, phones and contact lists revised.
