It’s all about the hub, ’bout the hub, ’bout the hub (don’t worry)

Janet Merkel and Andy Pratt were among the guests at a symposium on Coming to Terms with Creative Hubs on Thursday 28th January. The symposium was organised by Ros Gill and Tarek Virani and brought together academics, planners, developers, hub entrepreneurs and the users of creative co-working spaces to look at all aspects of the burgeoning trend for creative hubs. We heard from people involved in Bootstrap, The Trampery and Somerset House creative Hub as well as Hackney Council, and the GLA. The event was co-funded by AHRC’s Creativeworks London and City’s HEIF fund. It was filmed by Chaka, who will be putting together a series of short films over the coming months. Ros and Tarek are also editing a new book called Creative Hubs in Question. Thanks to everyone who took part. More soon!
