This week Marisol Sandoval in collaboration with the co-operatives Altgen and Blake House launched http://cultural.coop/ A website dedicated to exploring worker co-operatives as an alternative to precarious, individualised and exploitative work in the cultural sector.

The website for example includes a directory of cultural co-operatives in the UK and short video case studies that look at the politics of cultural co-ops. Go to the website to find out more.

If you want to learn more about how co-ops operate in the cultural sector, watch the first cultural co-ops video, introducing Ceramics Studio Coop: https://vimeo.com/160589906

The project is linked to Marisol’s research on the politics of cultural co-ops but also goes beyond it by aiming to facilitate co-operation, mutual support and solidarity among cultural sector co-operatives.
