Gendering Austerity at Birkbeck

An event at Birkbeck last week considered the gendered dimensions of austerity culture. Gendering Austerity was a multidisciplinary event, featuring talks by political economists and cultural theorists alongside screenings of creative films. Sara de Benedictis, who recently finished a PhD with Ros Gill, was a speaker in the morning, and Jo Littler from CCI participated in a roundtable discussion with Lynne Segal and Sue Himmelweit in the afternoon.
