UNESCO: CCI training policy makers

CCCI colleagues Prof. Andy Pratt and Dr Jenny Mbaye have secured  $150,000 from the UNESCO to develop a continuing professional development training module on the Creative Economy for mid-career cultural policy-makers and civil society practitioners in the ASEAN region, on the behalf of the intergovernmental organisation. Organised with the support of the Korean Government, this 8-week-long course will take place online in Autumn 2021.

This will place CCI and City as pioneering training providers for international policy makers in the field of the creative economy and cultural policy. Moreover, the training module is developed with South African colleagues whom the CCCI have links with, thus reaffirming the importance of de-centring the knowledge production in collaboration with the Global South. This unique training module is part of an Institutional Partnership Agreement (IPA) that Prof Pratt and Dr Mbaye have finalised and signed between City, University of London and the UNESCO, which aims at developing similar courses in Latin America and Africa.
