CERES Autumn Meeting will be held on 6th September at TU Dortmund

Through the Industrial Consortium, City’s Centre for Compressor Technology provides a forum for industry and academia to coordinate pre-commercial (TRL 1-3) research on industry-relevant compression technologies for the energy transformation sector. The industrial partners can also benefit from a tailor made service whilst fostering a broader cross-business sector understanding of compression technology developments.

On September 6th, 2024, the CERES Industrial Consortium will hold its Autumn Meeting at TU Dortmund. This event brings together researchers and academics from City, University of London, and professionals from the industry to discuss topics related to future energy systems.

The meeting will focus on sharing updates about ongoing projects. CERES with support from City, University of London currently funds 2 PhD projects:

  • Lubricants for oil-injected positive displacement machines
  • Theoretical and experimental investigation of screw compressor bearings

one consultancy project on “Artificial Intelligence tools for accelerated performance predictions and design in compressor systems” and a MsC project on “Identification And Reduction Of Sources Of Sound In Positive Displacement Machines”.

Aside from that, multiple other relevant project updates will be reported and presented, giving everyone a chance to be informed about the latest research findings.

In addition to these updates, there will be discussions about new ideas for future projects. This is an important part of the meeting, as it allows participants to brainstorm and develop new research proposals that could lead to exciting advancements in the field.

This whole-day event will also feature a keynote speech by Prof. Andreas Brummer, head of the Chair of Fluidics at TU Dortmund. Prof Brummer will speak about Research on injected screw compressors at the Chair of Fluidics, TU Dortmund.
