This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of MBA Careers Beers, a cornerstone event that brings together the Bayes MBA student and alumni community twice a year. As we gear up for the summer edition, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the January celebration.

Held at the elegant Coq d’Argent, located in the heart of London’s Square Mile, the commemorative edition of the event was attended by 250 MBA students, alumni and staff on Friday 17 January. The evening provided the ideal forum for engaging conversations, valuable connections, and an opportunity to celebrate 15 years of Careers Beers, complete with drinks, canapés, and entertainment.

For Sarah Juillet, Director of Postgraduate Careers, Professional Development and Business Clubs at Bayes, the incentives for attending on the night and the longer-term benefits are clear to see: “Careers Beers is a real springboard for professional networking and continues to prove its value to the MBA community. We’ve seen connections made at the event lead to job opportunities, invitations to join new projects, career advice and insights, as well as plenty of follow-up meetings and coffee chats with peers.”

Over its 15 years in existence, the event has attracted alumni of all experience levels, from across cohorts and industries. Varun Bawa (Full-time MBA, 2021), currently an Associate in Private Equity at McKinsey & Co., London, is one of many to have taken advantage of everything the event has to offer: “I’ve been attending Careers Beers since I finished my MBA in 2021, and I keep coming back because it’s such a great mix of catching up with peers, meeting inspiring seniors, and helping out recent grads who are just starting their journey. It’s a relaxed space where real conversations happen—about careers, challenges, and exciting milestones! I’ve made some great connections over the years, and if you’re thinking about going, I’d say do it—you’ll always walk away with something valuable.”

The summer 2025 edition of Careers Beers is confirmed for Friday 27 June in London. MBA alumni – look out for invitations in your inbox. In the meantime, take a look at photos from previous editions here: Bayes PG Careers’ albums | Flickr
