4th Conference on Financial Law and Regulation

The organisers, Dr Ilias Kapsis, Dr Clara Martins Pereira, Dr Virag Dr Virág Blazsek, Dr Andreas Kokkinis, and Professor Federico Lupo-Pasini, would like to invite paper abstract submissions for the 4th Conference on Financial Law and Regulation to take place at the City Law School, City St George’s, University of London on the 3rd of July 2025. This conference is supported by the Society of Legal Scholars, and the City Law School.

The purpose of the 4th conference is to support PhDs and early career researchers with an interest in Financial Law and Regulation and to gather influential scholars and practitioners in the field in the UK and Ireland. The conference delegates will present new research work and discuss the recent legal and regulatory developments in the field. The Conference will encourage lively debate and will bringing together a wide range of perspectives, including from regulators and industry.

The conference will be in person only, and participation will be free of charge, but delegates will be expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. The conference will offer meals (breakfast, lunch, refreshments) for all in-person participants.  

We invite abstract submissions (300 words) for papers that explore the law in the following fields:

  • International finance and European Union financial law, including developments related to Brexit.
  • Recent developments in Fintech.
  • Sustainable finance including ethics and culture in the financial services sector.
  • Financial stability and developments in regulatory architecture.
  • Developments in the private law of finance, financial services litigation, and consumer protection.
  • New trends in corporate finance.

Those interested in presenting their work should submit it by email by Thursday 17th April 2025.

We hope to get back to those whose papers are accepted within one to two weeks after the deadline for submission.
