This good practice guide was written by Jerry Tew, Colin Gell and Simon Foster and edited by Jill Anderson and first published in 2004.  This online guide includes updated sections as service user and carer involvement has developed since that time, along with changes to the broader context.

Produced in collaboration with service users and carers by Trent Multi Professional Deanery (2005), these guidelines aim to provide clarity for organisations that are working in health and social care education and training. It outlines the ‘Principles’ needed to guarantee that the involvement of service users and carers is embedded at all levels in the design, delivery and review of health care programmes.
