Dear Reader,

You have been invited to take part in anonymous online educator questionnaires to assist with my research study into digital citizenship for pupils aged 7-16. These aim to establish what is known, what is being done, what is needed, and why it matters in digital citizenship education in England.

Any digital citizenship education interaction is valid within this study, so please do not worry if you have had little or no experience of this in your role. The more headteachers, teachers and school librarians take part the better picture of digital citizenship education in England I can gain!

So, What Next?

The online survey is now live and will remain open until the end of January 2025. The survey will take approximately minutes to complete.

The survey and interview aim to gather teachers’ experiences and thoughts on…

  • What role you play within digital citizenship education?
  • How is digital citizenship taught in your school?
  • What do you notice?
  • What suggestions/advice do you have for other educators?
  • What training are you offered?
  • What is working and what needs changing?
  • What do you notice about your pupils/students digital citizenship behaviours?

Confidentiality!

At this point it is important to note, that all the participant interaction will be anonymised automatically via the online questionnaire software, and no personal data will or can be collected as part of the survey questionnaire stage. This means that you, your school, or location cannot be identified if you choose to take part.
