Module 5 looks at the resources we have for assessment, identifying strengths and needs, goal setting, therapy, and evaluation. What do we have in our personal tool boxes? What can we share with others or learn from them?
What resources do we need to support a child to use language at home, in school, when they play or to become more independent?
What strategies, tools and resources do we need to help a child use their language everyday? Do we need to use additional supports like pictures, photos and symbols? Do adults need to adapt their language to meet the needs of the child? Do we need to provide more opportunities for a language rich environment with a good range of commnication partners?
How can we enable a child to use language for different topics such as maths, everyday activities, expressing likes and dislikes, developing relationships, discussing their thoughts, feelings and beliefs?
