Have you received outstanding customer service from a member of Information Services staff? If yes, you can now recognise good work by nominating IS staff for a WOW Award*. Make a nomination here.

Information Services joined the WOW awards in September, and joined a number of other City University departments who already participate in this scheme.  Already a number of our IT colleagues have been rewarded with nominations to recognise their hard work and dedication.

Congratulations go to the following IT staff:

Angelina Nasev, Service Desk Team Leader:

“We had a very angry student in our Student Centre this morning who needed her IT account unbarred in order to do some work and we were having some technical difficulties and couldnt do this for her.   I managed to get hold of Angelina on the phone and she immediately accessed the appropriate system and unbarred the student straight away. This diffused the problem and the student left satisfied. Considering Angelinas department was so short-staffed this morning, and that there were other IT problems happening at the time which affected the whole University, I was really impressed with Angelinas responsiveness and her support for my team.   She definitely deserves a WOW!”

David Angelov, Telecomms Support Engineer:

David received a number of nominations for being “Very helpful, speedy in his job and accurate. He completed the task on a very short notice, great job!” another nomination noted “Working with David leaves you with a smile. His willingness to go above and beyond is unparalleled, and he does this as courteously and effortlessly as possible”

Robert Clark, Business Relationship Manager:

Robert was recognised for going “over and above to support all staff and can be relied upon to come up with ideas and always sees things through to completion and takes time to communicate regularly throughout. He goes over and above to support all staff and can be relied upon to come up with ideas and always sees things through to completion and takes time to communicate regularly throughout.”

Kola Fashoyin, Service Desk Team Leader:

“I would like to nominate Kola for a WOW! Award for his dedication, persistence and knowledge in helping me immensely in the last few days to reconnect to the Cass VPN after it stopped working on my personal laptop. This included managing to connect to it remotely whilst I was in Salzburg! I know too that my colleague, has also received consistently excellent service from Kola and that she supports this nomination.”

Chris Watkeys, Business Analyst:

“Chris helped set up some automated emails for my team which have made a significant difference to our workload. He actioned the request immediately and informed me as soon as everything was ready. I am used to requests like this taking some time to be dealt with as it was not particularly urgent, but the fact he set them up so quickly and efficiently was really great. Excellent service! Thanks!”

Helder Ferreira, Service Desk Analyst:

“For taking ownership of an IT task that needed an out of box solution, and sticking with it.”

What are the WOW Awards?

* The WOW Awards scheme works to develop and perfect customer service. Unlike some organisations that attempt to expose and punish poor customer service, the WOW Awards scheme recognises and rewards outstanding customer service. The awards don’t seek to catch people doing things wrong, but to catch them doing it right.
