Following the new Technology upgrades to the University’s Broadcast TV Studio in the Journalism Department, the Faculty has once again been awarded the Broadcast Journalism Training Council ( BJTC ) accreditation for its excellent TV Studio and Video production facilities.

The award was granted on the 28th April 2015 , and recognises the high Technical standards of the Broadcast TV production facilities, and the Journalism Academic standards taught on the MA TV and MA Broadcasting courses at City University London.

TV Studio 3The accreditation was granted after our new Broadcast Standard High Definition TV Studio, which makes use of green screen and virtual reality software, was inspected by the BJTC Team and put through it’s technical paces.

The Team watched a live 15 minute TV News programme, produced by MA Journalism students, showcasing not only the state-of-the-art equipment, but the students’ production and technical operational skills along with their journalistic talents.

They were particularly impressed with our use of the NewTek Tricaster 8000 Production Hub & Vision Mixing System and the TVU Minipack Link, which allows students to send live video reports back from locations around London – making use of 4G mobile broadband signals.
