NSS VICTORY FOR IS

The National Student Survey has recently published it’s annual results, with City University achieving 87%, its highest score ever. This makes City University the highest scoring university in London for student satisfaction.

Information Services is also celebrating a successful survey, with both the Library and IT increasing their score from last year. The Library achieved a score of 89%, up from 86% in 2014, while IT scored 90%, up from 89% in 2014.

In 2014 students across a number of courses were surveyed, and we scored an average of 70% satisfaction. In 2015 the same group of students were surveyed, at which time we raised our score to an average of 83%.  A huge increase of 13% tells us our students have seen a dramatic improvement in the services provided by the Library and IT and appreciate the positive changes we have been making to our services in a relatively short space of time.

It’s not just the opinions of our students that are important to us, but the opinions of our colleagues. Earlier in the year Information Services ran a staff survey in order to find out how the rest of the university feels we’re doing.

The results were very positive, with an overall satisfaction level of 83%. In addition, over 50% of staff feel that IS has improved over the last 12 months. The results showed a particular satisfaction with the stability and speed of the university’s core network. We are pleased to know that staff are increasingly satisfied with our services, and will work to ensure we continue improving.
