Successful Wireless Printing Trial

, , Leave a comment

For six weeks in February and March, students were invited to try wireless printing in the Northampton Square Library.  This meant that for the first time, students could connect to University printers from their own laptop.

The trial went smoothly with a number of students offering positive feedback about this new service.

“I have just printed from my laptop using your trial wireless printing service and it worked without any problems.  I think this would be a great service to implement permanently as it is practical and convenient (it is usually very hard to find a free computer in the library, even just for print jobs, as most of them are occupied by late morning!).    This is a very useful service and I feel it would be beneficial to many students (it certainly is for me!).”

As a result of this successful trial, we will be introducing wireless printing across the University in a number of locations.

When will it start?

1st September 2013

Which printers will be enabled?

All student printers will be enabled for wireless printing.

Can students print from any wireless device or just laptops?

All manner of devices will be supported.
