As the Brexit day scheduled for the 12th of April approaches and Britain’s fate seems more uncertain than ever, the News Yourself Politics team takes a look at the upcoming votes in parliament this week.

Monday 25 March – On Monday Parliament debated Brexit alternatives

The session commenced at 14:30 GMT, starting with Defence Questions. The main motion opened up a debate about Brexit alternatives, including a Revocation Bill which would cancel the UK’s notice to leave the EU and possibly delay Brexit beyond the cut-off date of 30 June suggested by Theresa May.

Tuesday 26 March – third vote on May’s deal?

Theresa May’s Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Tuesday. A potential third vote on her withdrawal deal might take place, although MP’s positive vote on the matter has been deemed very unlikely by Prime Minister herself.

Wednesday 27 March – indicative votes

Indicative votes on viable Brexit alternatives will be held on Wednesday; however, it is still unclear whether MPs will be allowed to vote freely without the party’s direction. Another vote on the final Brexit date will take place, as MPs attempt to postpone the day beyond the 29th of March.

Thursday 28 March – another vote to postpone Brexit day?

A possible opportunity for a meaningful third vote. A vote to postpone the Brexit day might also take place.

Friday 29 March – the scheduled Brexit day

No Parliament sessions are scheduled to take place on the Brexit day, unless the following days determine otherwise.
