There are several ways to mark on moodle. In this blog I will list three ways in which this is possible.

Mark Moodle Assignments Using a Marking Record

A marking record is very similar to a rubric, but it’s even more simpler.

For each marking criterion, a comment explains what is being sought, and provides a maximum mark that can be awarded. Students can view the marking criteria before they submit, so that they know what their learning priorities are in relation to the assignment. When you come to marking you can view the criteria and add in your comments and grades for each criteria as well as use the ‘frequently added comments’ function. Marking using a marking record is more detailed and less subjective than awarding a single grade. Mark Moodle Assignments Using a Rubric

You can design and use rubrics to mark assignments in Moodle. A rubric divides the assigned work into component parts and provides clear descriptions of the characteristics of the work associated with each component, at varying levels of mastery. Rubrics can be used for a wide array of assignments: papers, projects, oral presentations, artistic performances, group projects, etc. Rubrics can be used as scoring or grading guides, to provide formative feedback to support and guide ongoing learning efforts, or both. Marking Moodle Assignments using grademark

This is also one of the common ways in which papers are marked currently. With GradeMark® a lecturer is able to edit and grade student papers online. The lecturer can add comments within the body of the paper, point out grammar and punctuation mistakes, evaluate the paper against qualitative or quantitative rubrics, assess the student’s performance within the class and enter a grade for the paper that is automatically saved into GradeBook.
