City, University of London seeks to recruit an Educational Technologist as part of Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD). LEaD is a multiskilled service that supports, develops, and influences education at City. We contribute to educational strategy; run a Masters in Academic Practice; work with staff to further develop their pedagogic practices; help implement and develop educational technologies and learning spaces; and support students in need of learning support or counselling.
LEaD Digital Education is responsible for supporting City’s approach for using technology for enhancing teaching, learning and assessment and the development of appropriate and engaging learning spaces. This role is linked to the new STEM Digital Academy initiative within the School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering (SMCSE) and based within the Digital Education School Liaison team for SMCSE, Law and the Business School. The postholder will be based on campus and involved in supporting a new recording studio that will be used by SMCSE academic staff to pre-record teaching materials and deliver live synchronous online teaching sessions. The recording studio will use the RapidMOOC recording solution.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting multimedia production facilities and maintaining video equipment. Experience in setting up a studio for talking head videos and providing end user support for multimedia production. Experience of editing using Premiere, Premiere Rush, Final Cut or other editing packages. They will also have experience of supporting multimedia small-scale projects and delivering training on a one-to-one and small group basis. A collaborative approach, excellent communication and organisation skills and the ability to work flexibly in a complex working environment are essential requirements.
