Using LinkedIn Learning to support your studies

As you go through your studies, it is important that you continue to advance your academic and employability skills to stay up to date with the ever-changing world while keeping ahead of your competition. City now offers all students free access to LinkedIn Learning which gives you access to over 13,000 courses which cover a wide range of technical and soft skills and new courses are being added all the time. You can access LinkedIn Learning by signing in using your City credentials. With LinkedIn Learning, the long commute or walk to campus will seem shorter when you take advantage of audio and video courses via the LinkedIn Learning App 


LinkedIn Learning theme for May 

During the month of May, we have been promoting mindfulness and sleep courses under the same theme as a way of encouraging you to focus more on your health and wellbeing after a busy Spring term. Mindfulness is important for overcoming stress and anxiety during this exam period and is important for your emotional, physical, and general wellbeing. It can also help you to become focused and develop more effective relationships with the people around you. For those of you who do not have exams, it is still important that you prioritise your health and wellbeing by being more mindful.  


Be mindful always 

The Mindfulness for Beginners course empowers you with information on what mindfulness is, how to stay mindful and the benefits of practicing mindfulness. . To complement it, is the practice morning mindfulness course which provides you with knowledge and information on how you can start each day by practising mindfulness so that you enjoy the world around you and understand yourself better.  


Optimising your sleep to live your best life  

Sleep has a powerful impact on everything you do while you are awake. It is mandatory and cannot be outsourced or negotiated. For those of you who are sitting your exams, always remember that sleep is important to help you focus better. The Sleep is Your Superpower course teaches you how to make sleep a priority and take steps to achieve sleep wellness.  There are many more courses on sleep including Recharge Your Energy for Peak Performance, videos and audios on the best sleep positions, improving sleep quality among others.
