Would you like to myth-bust the notion of digital natives?

Have you ever wondered how you could be more open in your practice?

If yes, then City’s Digital Literacies and Open Practices (in Higher Education) module could be for you!

About the module

In this module we consider:

  • General assumptions about digital literacies, digital literacies of staff and students, and frameworks to support digital literacies;
  • What it means to be open in terms of open educational resources, open access, open licensing and open science;
  • The concept of the digital scholar and the importance of copyright literacy via The Publishing Trap;
  • How do embed digital literacies and open practices into the curriculum.

The module is taught over four teaching days from October to December 2022, with three days online and one day on-site at City, University of London.

2022 dates: 12 October, 2 November, 23 November, 13 December.

Fees and funding

All fees are waived for any City, University of London staff (including visiting lecturers) and current City PhD students. The module is available to external participants as a standalone module (cost £612) or, if you already hold a PGCert, then you might be able to put this module towards a PGDip or MA in Academic Practice*. We are able to offer a 25% reduction of fees for all staff from other member institutions of the University of London.
