The Innovation Centre Library will be moving to a new location, AG17 in College Building.
This is to allow for preparatory work ahead of our move to the new City Law School Building on Sebastian Street (opening in late 2019).
The Innovation Centre Library will close at 17:00 on Friday 27th July 2018 and will reopen in its new location on Monday 6th August 2018.
In preparation for the move, it is necessary to close Level 2 of the Innovation Centre Library from Thursday 26th July. Please ask at the library help desk if you need to consult an item located here on Thursday 26th or Friday 27th and we will be able to fetch it for you.
Where is AG17?
AG17 is located on the ground floor of College Building. You can find the campus map here: city.ac.uk/visit
What if I need books, law reports or journals located at the Innovation Centre Library?
Our collection will not be accessible between Friday 27th July and Monday 6th August. If this week you are on campus and you know you need a book, we would recommend you borrow it now.
Remember that many of our resources are available online. Please consult our catalogue city.ac.uk/library or ask a member of Library Staff for help.
What if I need to return a book belonging to the Innovation Centre Library?
Please return any book you borrowed from the Innovation Centre Library to any other Library site.
Level 5 of the Northampton Square Library will re-open on Friday 6th July. However, the investigations have slightly overrun and the external contractors still need to carry out some work on Level 5. As a result, there will be noise and disruption for small periods throughout the day.
Whilst the contractors will try to work around you, they may need you to move to a different study space.
Apologies for any disruption this causes, we have scheduled this work to take place during our quietest period to minimise the inconvenience to you.
Silent study spaces remain available at the Cass Learning Resource Centre, and the Law Libraries.
The Practising Midwife, a key peer reviewed journal for students and staff working in maternity services, is now available to read online via the Library website.
Individual full-text articles can be discovered using CityLibrary Search, or you can browse to a specific issue via our Journals A-Z: simply log-in using your City Username and Password and then select ‘Our Journals’ from the top menu of the journal’s website.
Access is provided from 2013 onwards, with the latest edition for July/August 2018 available now.
Online access to this journal comes in addition to the print version which continues to be kept on Level 5 at the Northampton Square Library, with more volumes dating back to 1998 available on request from the Library Store.
If you need a book from Level 5 (classmarks 300-999 inc.) then fill in the form at the Level 2 Help Desk and we will fetch the items for you. You will then be able to collect them from the Requested Items Collection area on Level 2.
We will be fetching items three times a day, along with our fetches for items from Level 4:
Requests submitted by 10.15am will be ready for collection at 11am
Requests submitted by 1.15pm will be ready for collection at 2pm
Requests submitted by 4.15pm will be ready for collection at 5pm
Requests submitted after 4.15pm will be available at 11am the next working day
