Taking the time to look after yourself

Being in the midst of a global pandemic is not easy for anybody. Having to study or work from home, not seeing friends and family in person, and worrying about our loved ones and our own health makes this a difficult time for all of us.

If you’ve been following us on Twitter, you might have noticed us posting about some of our wellbeing e-books. Now that the exams for most of us are over, you might have more time on your hands to look at more wellbeing online resources accessible via CityLibrary. See a selection of wellbeing titles below:

To find more resources, search for e-books on CityLibrary Search: enter your keywords and narrow down the results to online resources by selecting the “Full text online” filter on the left hand side. You may find narrowing the content type down to “Books / e-books” helpful, too.

In addition to the e-books available at CityLibrary, BibliU have made their e-books available to students until 30 June 2020, too. To access them, including many wellbeing resources, use the link to BibliU which can be found also on our Temporary access to online resources guide.

Finally, if reading a book does not help or you are simply longing for human contact, have a look at the Mindfulness drop-in sessions organised by City’s Centre for Excellence in Mindfulness Research. They are available to all City students and staff and take place online every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30 -1pm. Likewise, if you are looking for help from City’s Student Counselling & Mental Health Service or Student Centre, they are available for remote consultations as well.
