Working hard to achieve academic and professional excellence can be tough at the best of times, but throw in a global pandemic too and, well, it’s safe to say most of us are feeling more challenged than ever before. That’s why we want to encourage you to #TakeABreak and think about the importance of self-care during the exams and assessment period.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be posting regularly across CityLibrary News and social media to highlight the range of support services and resources available to you: plus relaxation ideas, help with study skills, wellbeing tips; and of course, we’ll be distributing some of our puzzling puzzles so you can distract yourself during a beverage break.
There are a few key sources of support we recommend everyone take a look at:
- CityLibrary Wellbeing Guide
- City’s Wellbeing services, including counselling and chaplaincy
- City Student’s Union: Support services.
And whether you go for a walk, get some fresh air, switch off your smartphone, or head home to get some sleep, it’s crucial to look after yourself and find of ways of managing any stress you’re experiencing.
Remember, you’re not alone: friends, colleagues, staff, there are always people around to help you get through this process; if you’re feeling overwhelmed or concerned at any point, talk to someone, get support, seek advice – we’ll all get there in the end, together.
Good luck everyone. Stay safe.
