Pride at CityLibrary

In celebration of Pride month, CityLibrary has all kinds of resources to explore this June. Whether you want to learn about the history of the movement or catch up on a beautifully told fictional story, there’s something for everyone.

Kanopy has plenty of interesting leisure viewing, with some of the standouts being Derek Jarman’s Jubilee, the fantastic dramas Boy Erased and Princess Cyd, and the documentaries The Queen and Decoding Alan Turing. The streaming service has even more choice from outrageous comedies to under the radar international masterpieces, just search LGBTQ on Kanopy to discover more.

CityLibrary also has a range of theatre performances to watch too. There are the National Theatre’s outrageously funny Twelfth Night, both parts of 2017 revival of Tony Kushner’s Angels in America, and the semi-autobiographical Deep Blue Sea. On Digital Theatre plus, have your heart broken by the critically acclaimed Falsettos or let yourself be taken back to the 1930s with Noel Coward’s Private Lives.
