There was a lot of work on discourse presented at IARC 2018, which we were really pleased to see. There was also a lot of live tweeting from the conference- we’ve created a discourse ‘highlights reel’ on Wakelet. It’s composed of 12 tweets, but you don’t need to be on twitter yourself or log in to Twitter to see it! We hope you enjoy thinking about the work as much as we have.
The LUNA team were well represented at the conference, with Madeline Cruice, Lucy Dipper, Deborah Hersh and Madeleine Pritchard from the LUNA team all presenting work. The team contributed to a number of satellite events before the conference, including the second Research Outcome Measurement in Aphasia (ROMA-2) meeting, facilitated by Sarah Wallace. This built on the previous ROMA consensus meeting preceding IARC 2016, bringing together international researchers to obtain consensus on research outcome measurement. The focus of the ROMA- 2 meeting was agreeing a measure for communication. Discourse measures were amongst the communication measures considered; dissemination results will be available via Sarah Wallace and the University of Queensland.
