I have just joined the MAfS team as the new Project Support & Communications Officer, providing support across all projects we are delivering. I was excited for my first day at City and came to work with a spring in my step. I am happy to report that the same happened on my second day thanks to a warm welcome from my team! I did bring some moreish almond treats from a recent trip to Portugal on my first day; bribing with sugar always works…
I am taking over from Sam Futcher-Adams following his promotion to Business Analyst and I have big shoes to fill! Fortunately, Sam happens to also be my “buddy” and is making sure I have all the information I need to settle in and hit the ground running.
I previously worked at the Royal College of Art as a Special Projects Administrator for the School of Communication, where I enjoyed being surrounded by art and creativity. Although a different context at City, I can already see how my team engages their creative muscles in the delivery of the MAfS programme, and our stand-up board could certainly rival a Tracey Emin piece.
Outside of work I enjoy practising yoga and I am qualified as a yoga teacher. I am interested in all sorts of self-care and spiritual practises and I like to spend time tending to my soul. If the sun is out, you will most likely find me in a sunny patch somewhere!
In the next few weeks, I look forward to getting to grips with the acronyms, attending my first project meetings, getting involved with a staff network, and starting to carve out a successful time in the MAfS team.
Here is hoping for many more days coming to work with a spring in my step!
