Songs List Website Version (11 July)

The link above takes you to the list that includes the roughly 900 songs I have so far found that make reference to the First World War. I am always looking to add to them, especially from parts of the world I am less familiar with. The ‘rules’ for inclusion are:

  1. The song should have been published since c1960
  2. It must make a reference or allusion to the First World War in its title or lyrics
  3. It may be an update of an earlier song but should be a significantly new version in arrangement or performance
  4. It should not have been written specifically for a play, film or TV programme
  5. It should be in a genre usually termed ‘popular’ as opposed to ‘classical’ music
