Who are you?
I am the UK Student Recruitment and Schools Liaison Manager in the schools liaison team here at City, University of London.
What do you do?
I lead on City’s UK schools liaison and recruitment work. I oversee the work we do with schools and colleges across the UK, working with my team to run a programme of sessions in schools to support students with their transition to university. I also lead on City’s attendance at external exhibitions around the country.
What’s the best part of your job?
When a student tells me that the advice I gave that day changed their life and helped them make a more informed decision about their progression – nothing beats that!
How long have you been at City?
This is my sixth cycle with City! Long enough that some of our Student Ambassadors met me back in year 12, which is lovely.
Tell us a bit about yourself
I worked in further education before making the move to HE, so am very understanding of the challenges careers advisers face and happy to discuss all things processing hundreds of UCAS applications with you! My degree is in Musical Theatre and whilst my career took a bit of a change after becoming a Student Ambassador at uni, I still perform in musicals in my spare time (a fact I often use in some of my presentations to schools!)
