City has moved up by more than 90 places in the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Efficiency Scheme League table and has been named the most energy efficient university in the UK.
The league table is based on how well organisations manage their energy use under the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme. This mandatory initiative requires private and public sector organisations that use more than 6,000MWh of electricity a year to measure and report their carbon emissions.
The latest performance league table published by the Environment Agency ranked City in 64th place overall out of more than 2000 organisations.
The result reflects an on-going commitment to reducing the impact of University operations on the environment.
You can help us continue to excel in this area by taking simple actions such as switching off lights, computers and any other gadgets when not in use; and reporting any inefficiencies to the Environment Team at environment@city.ac.uk.
