Technical Information

The VESFA study is all delivered online.

Testing will be on the video conferencing technology zoom.

Therapy will be delivered in EVA Park, a virtual world for people with aphasia

What do you mean by virtual?

  • We mean a virtual world, or online 3D space you can explore, meet other people, and practice talking. You are not talking to virtual other people or robots, but real people who are logged on at the same time.
  • It is not immersive virtual reality – it is a 3D world on a screen, much like a computer game in real time. You do not need to wear a virtual reality headset like Oculus Rift or Google cardboard.

TECH REQUIREMENTS

You can access EVA Park from most modern computers and laptops.

You cannot access EVA Park from tablets or mobiles.

Is there a minimum specification computer?

Is there a minimum speed of broadband connection required to use EVA Park?

  • Yes. EVA Park will work well with download speeds of 5mbps and over, the higher the better. You can check the speed of your internet connection at www.speedtest.net. Press ‘go’. The download speed will be somewhere between 0-100.

DOWNLOADING EVA PARK

Niamh will support you to get your computer set up for therapy in EVA Park. We may use Teamviewer, this will allow Niamh to set up your computer for you remotely.
