A portrait of my four year old baby sister – Iggy-Blue, sporting her all time favourite t-shirt. A passion for nature is embedded in Iggy’s persona, she adores animals of all kind and loves going to the zoo. Her favourite animal is the Tiger- ferocious and fearless. Iggy is suffering from Pneumonia, a lung infection which causes a wheezy cough, stuffy nose, shaking chills and fever, however Iggy doesn’t let this stop her from having fun. She is super strong and very brave. Iggy-Blue is much like a tiger herself.

News Event

Mia O’Brien. Westminster, London, United Kingdom. Nov 20 2019.- Extinction Rebellion protestors go on hunger strike outside the Conservative Campaign Headquarters in West Minster.

These ‘XR’ members join hundreds of people in over 22 countries in hunger striking, in order to “highlight the vulnerability of our planet’s food supplies” to the Climate & Ecological Emergency.

Protestors are demanding that election candidates support the Three Demands Bill to help safeguard our futures, with hopes of a Citizen’s Assembly.

The Three Demands Bill calls for the following:

  1. Tell the Truth – by declaring a Climate & Ecological Emergency and do all in their power to communicate the urgency for change, including working with government and other institution.
  2. Act Now – by promoting policies to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.
  3. Beyond Party Politics – Help the Government to create and be led by the decisions of a Citizen’s Assembly on climate and ecological justice.

Associated with punks, bikers and criminals, a social stigma of tattoos once existed. Since then, tattoos have shifted into cultural mainstream. London tattoo artist – Neal Bridson said: “People from all walks of life come through the door. Tattoo Culture is no longer a subculture, its for everyone” A 2015 YouGov poll reveals that almost one fifth of British adults have tattoos. Body art is becoming a social norm.

Labelled the most polluting, the fashion industry is notorious for its mass scale waste. According to the waste charity -Wrap, more than 300,000 tonnes of used clothing goes to landfill in the UK every year. The Re-cycling and Up-cycling of fashion, does not only contribute to sustainable shopping, but also preserves vintage culture. Stall worker- Shannon says: “Save the Planet, Shop Vintage!”
