Training contracts for solicitors on the increase

justice-scale_1263430Good to see that recent stats indicate that there has been a 9% rise in the number of trainee solicitors from 2014-15, with 5457 training contracts registered (according to The Law Society). Large firms (meaning those with 26 partners or more) offered half the TCs, which suggests a recovery in trainee numbers among smaller firms. So good news for aspiring solicitors!

But if you are one of the many LLB students who decide not to aim at becoming a solicitor or barrister or just if you haven’t got lucky with your applications, there are plenty of other career opportunities open to you, as well as those related to law like Company Secretary, Legal Executive or a Compliance Officer in an investment bank. Law is regarded by employers as a very marketable degree.

Your friendly City Careers Consultants are always happy to discuss opportunities! And we are here all summer too, so no excuses!
