My research interests focus on gender and language/ discourse, including gendered workplaces; the discursive construction of gender identities; and the development of research methodologies, including for the study of gender and sexualities. In recent years, I have also become interested in global engagement as a positive and inclusive force in higher education and civil society. I have a long-standing commitment to addressing inequalities and promoting interdisciplinary dialogue — a commitment I have channelled into publications and projects, but also into roles that have allowed me to shape my field (for example, as elected President of the International Gender and Language Association and one of the past Associate Editors of Gender and Language) and my academic institution.
