Cycling Superstar
LEaD team member Mo Pamplin took part in the British University and College 25 mile cycling championships recently and put in a sterling effort.
Here’s what he had to say about the event:
As a student on the MAAP I was eligible to compete in the British University and Colleges 25 mile cycling time trial championships on Saturday 26th April, in Oxford. Previous winners of cycling events in the BUCS championships include Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton, and since there are highly competitive, well-established cycling teams in many universities, I knew in advance I was going to be making up the numbers. However, it is unlikely that I will be selected to compete in a national championships race ever again, so I gladly took the opportunity. I completed the 25 mile course in 1 hr 6 min 31s (the winner of the men’s event came home in 52 min 5s – an impressive 28.8mph).
Well done Mo!
