Simone is a mother of three with complex mental health and alcohol dependency issues, she is further challenged when her father becomes ill and her ability to care for her own children is called into question. Simone is the central character in this realistic and emotionally challenging scenario for health students. This ambitious role play was a challenge for the academics, based on service user stories and delivered using Moodle forums, they have a few lessons learned to share from their experience as well as insights into encouraging deeper learning through role play.
