In 2014, SUGAR submitted an article to the Journal of Psychosocial Nursing that described the benefits of ‘Adding SUGAR’ to research, from the unique insights that have influenced the design of studies, to improving the application of the research to real-life mental health practice, and the personal development of the service users and carers involved. In the same journal edition, Professor Alan Simpson and Richard Humm, an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Health Sciences, City University London and member of SUGAR were invited to write the editorial piece.
