Launched via the April issue of Bayes Alumni Newsletter, the 2024 Bayes Alumni Survey was conducted in order to gain insight and input from the Bayes alumni community of 50,000+ graduates living and working in 170 countries.
Of particular interest was to establish the needs of alumni and how Bayes can add value to the community. The survey focussed on the following areas:
- Engagement – feeling of engagement since graduation, event attendance, use of the alumni network for careers, perceived value of membership of the network, likelihood of connecting with more alumni, reasons to connect with the Business School
- Events – preferred professionally-related topics for events, format (online, in-person), type of event, preferred timing
- Volunteering – frequency, reason(s) why, future interest in
- Communications – preferred social media channels, frequency of communication from Bayes, preferred content/types of stories, preferred format
- Suggestions – an open field gave alumni the chance to suggest issues, events or initiatives that would be of interest in the future
We had a fantastic response from alumni. See the infographic for a snapshot on the results gained from the survey.

Commenting on the survey, Helen Nicholson (Head of Bayes Alumni Relations) said : “It has been fantastic to get feedback from so many of our alumni, and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to participate. We are already working on using the feedback gained to inform our future programming, including the set-up of a new event series and a review of our communications. It is important that our alumni programme is as relevant and impactful as possible, and these results will help us to achieve this.”
