Future of Humanity Institute, University of Oxford

Postgraduate and third year students might be interested in looking at the Researcher jobs that have opened at the FHI. 

We have opened research positions across all our research strands and three levels of seniority: Researchers, Research Fellows, and Senior Research Fellows. These positions offer talented researchers the freedom to think about the most important issues of our era in an environment with other brilliant minds willing to constructively engage with a broad range of ideas.

UNCTAD Trade and Development Report 2020

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development has published its annual report which was authored in part by City’s own Professor Anastasia Nesvetailova.

Balfour Project Peace Advocacy Fellowships

The Balfour Project is delighted to announce the Peace Advocacy Fellowship Programme for 2020-1. Up to 10 Fellows will be appointed. Fellows will advocate the Balfour Project approach to peace on campus, including calling for British Government recognition of the state of Palestine alongside Israel and raising public awareness about our historical and ongoing responsibility to work for equal rights for Palestinians and Israelis.

The Fellows will receive training in negotiation skills, public speaking, fundraising, event planning, and more. They will also receive a small grant of £700.

Is Political Violence Ever Justifiable?

Dr. Gwilym David Blunt has written a short piece for The Conversation on political violence and democracy. It argues that the presumptive norm against violence in democratic societies does not hold in circumstances of intransigent and severe injustices.
