Hello there. It’s the start of term and there are some great things to participate in at City and in London
Student Opportunity: Micro-Placements Programme
Have you started to think about your career options?
Do you want to explore potential career paths open to you?
Then look no further, the Micro-Placements Programme provides professional experience to students looking to explore careers not traditionally associated with their degree!
The Micro-Placements Programme is a 15-credit elective module within your curriculum that provides you an opportunity to complete an exciting project and gain real life work experience for four weeks at an employer’s office in the summer.
Micro-Placements can help differentiate you from others ready for when you enter the competitive graduate job market, all with the dedicated support of the Micro-Placements team along the way! The best part is no prior experience is needed to be eligible to apply for this Programme.

- Business Development project at Politico
- Data and Research visualisation project at Crest Advisory
And a number of projects with SME’s such as Tatham Maccines, Working Families and Forum for the Future.
Don’t just take our word for it, hear from your peers:
“The application form was useful but more impactful for me were the interview and assessment centre stages. The interview was good practice, helping to prepare me for future interviews, specifically showing me the importance of being commercially aware and being ready to engage in conversation relating to this. The assessment centre was a very good experience also as it encouraged teamwork but also encouraged us to demonstrate our individual strengths. It enabled me to understand how an assessment centre works with different scenarios.”
Marvellous Akib, LLB Law student
