Digital accessibility resource

Hello! It’s been quite some time since my last post to this blog (I’ve been on maternity leave), and many things have changed – in my own personal life, at City, and worldwide.

The majority of us will now be solely or mostly teaching online, and the next few posts will be looking at the challenges of the Emergency Remote Teaching that many of you have been undertaking, and online teaching in general, and how these can be managed.

Those of you who have been to the Establishing a Teaching Persona course will know that I’m very interested in the connections between compassion and education, and I’ll also be discussing how vital a compassionate approach to teaching is during a pandemic.

To start us off, a useful resource about how to ensure the accessibility of learning materials has just been created for City: Digital accessibility awareness poster DK1b

I’m also planning some guest posts for current PhD students to share their experiences of teaching – if you’d like to contribute, please get in touch (jessica.hancock @ city.ac.uk without the spaces).
