Conversation UK article by City Q-Step PhD on London Mayoral campaign
Rima Saini, 2nd year PhD in Quantitative Sociology, wrote a timely piece in the Conversation UK about Tory and Labour efforts to garner votes in this month’s London Mayoral elections.
She used data from the 2010 Ethnic Minority Survey from the British Election Study team to look at what South Asian groups in the UK really think about the main political parties in the running.
She found an overhwhelming cynicism from all South Asian ethnic groups towards UK party politics and a majority lean towards the Labour party.
This article and the findings it outlines offer a lot of food for thought given the results of the May election. You can read the piece in full here.
