YouGov Politics Intern
Deadline: 1 January, 2022
YouGov are searching for a very strong candidate to join the Political and Social Research Department for a one year student placement.
This role will involve working as a key member of the team, writing survey questions, scripting surveys, analysing data and producing results.
The successful candidate will assist on a range of political and social research projects, covering a wide range of subjects including everything from voting intention polling to Strictly Come Dancing predictions.
Clients will include major media organisations, academics, political parties, NGOs, charities, pressure groups, think tanks and 10 Downing Street.
Throughout the twelve-month placement you can expect to gain unrivalled experience of conducting primary quantitative research for one of the country’s most successful, innovative and well-known research organisations.
The position is best suited to a confident, well-organised, outgoing individual who has an understanding of primary research and a desire to pursue a career in either politics or political and social research.
The role is ideal for sandwich year students and 2nd year undergraduates looking for a placement.

Visa Government Engagement Summer Intern London 2022
Visa’s Government Engagement team is focused on developing Visa’s position on key public policy issues facing the digital payments sector.
The team is responsible for establishing Visa as a thought leader on key issues, maintaining critical external relationships and proactively aligning business initiatives with policy trends and public policy objectives.
The team monitors policy developments in the UK, Ireland and around the world, and through sound research and analysis develops content that helps shape the policy discourse. The team also provides advice to a number of internal stakeholder groups on both mature and emerging payments policy issues..
We are looking for a self- starting intern to facilitate more agile ways of working. You will be relied upon as a trusted resource for the team to undertake research, analyse policy, review documents, distil volumes of information into key insights and effectively communicate key findings. You will have a good grasp of politics, economics and ideally a keen interested in industry developments pertaining to FinTech and payments.

Hudson Institute Summer Internship

Hudson Institute Political Studies offers top undergraduates a Summer Fellowship in political theory and practice that broadens and deepens understanding of public policy and American political principles. The Fellowship combines rigorous study of politics and political thought through week-long seminars led by master teachers, policy workshops featuring think tank experts and experienced government officials, and a distinguished speaker series of exemplary figures from public life. The 2022 Summer Fellowship features seminars that examine Plato’s Republic, Machiavelli’s The Prince, and Alexis de Tocqueville’s Democracy in America along with selections from the Bible, Federalist Papers, Lincoln-Douglas Debates, and current scholarship on the opioid epidemic, technology regulation, American foreign policy in the Middle East and in the Asia Pacific.
Hudson Institute Political Studies is hosted at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and lasts for six weeks. Students participate free of charge, are given complimentary accommodations, and receive a $3,000 stipend.
