Interested in sustainability?
CityVentures, Better Space and the Sustainability team have come together to bring you the very first Sustainable City Hackathon taking place on the 25th March. The Hackathon will bring staff, students and Islington residents together to find solutions to local sustainability issues through collaboration and entrepreneurship. Interdisciplinary teams will be formed to tackle one of three issues:
- Food waste
- The circular economy
- The night-time economy
The events will kick off with an introduction evening to the three topics to help get teams inspired and motivated for the big day. Then, on Saturday 25th March, the teams will come together to create solutionsfor the three topic areas, whilst developing their entrepreneurial skills with support from experts and mentors. Finally, teams will be able to present their solution to a panel of expert judges at the pitch evening, with awards and prizes up for grabs.
No prior experience needed, just a passion for change and collaboration. We hope this event will provide tangible solutions to some of today’s most critical issues while building a community of students, staff and local residents passionate about sustainability.
